Professionalism in Recovery Coaching

Paid by the Alberta Government for Alberta Residents

Description

This is a 12-hour course designed for individuals to grow their confidence and clarity around what it means to show up professionally in the role of a Recovery Coach.

It expands on the boundaries and conduct content introduced in RCAC and dives into real-world situations where professionalism can be challenging to define or demonstrate, especially when lived experience is part of the story.

Topics include:
  • Navigating boundaries, dual relationships, time management, and working with other care providers in a coaching context
  • Understanding what professionalism looks like when you bring your lived experience into your work
  • Coaching within multidisciplinary systems, staying in your lane, and professional responsibility
  • Conduct expectations, use of social media, and representing yourself as a coach
It’s practical, real, and grounded in the voices and experiences of Recovery Coaches currently doing the work. Individuals leave this training with tools and insight to carry themselves confidently and ethically in a wide range of recovery-oriented settings.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of the RCAC Foundations of Recovery Coaching 30-Hour Training.
